Static Dressers in Detail
Single-point, form, multi-grain, and impregnated dressers compared – applications and available diamond grades.
Static dressers are a cost-effective alternative to dressing rollers, used primarily for sharpening conventional grinding wheels. Depending on the application, a particular design and diamond grade is recommended. For diamond grades, customers can choose between synthetic (MKD, CVD) or natural diamonds.
SDD, FDD, MDD, IDD – application recommendations

EHWA diamond grades for static dressing tools
CVD, MCC – produced by chemical vapor deposition: high self-sharpening effect of the grains for high grinding performance, segmented coating supports chip removal and cooling, long service life reduces incidental costs.
MKD – monocrystalline diamonds: highest hardness grade, no lattice defects, no binder, near-notch-free edges, high self-sharpening effect, consistent tool life due to homogeneous composition.
ND – natural diamonds: high self-sharpening effect for high grinding performance, segmented coating supports chip removal and cooling, long service life.
