Ball screw assemblies consist of a spindle and a nut. The nut moves linearly along the spindle as the balls roll along the raceway. Ball screws are predominantly installed in machine tools and are typically responsible for exact positioning. Given the high demands of this application, these components – the raceway in particular – are ground to a very high precision.
