Construction: sawing, drilling and grinding

Application chapters on construction tools and machining processes.

Consider the application and tool together

The construction documents organize tools by machine and operation: wall and floor saws, table and hand-held saws, wire saws, core drilling and surface grinding. A suitable design starts with the application and the material being processed.

This edited overview provides an introduction to the tool family. Complete original tables and illustrations remain accessible through the source links. You can move from the described operation directly to a technical discussion of your application.

Tool features and benefits

A matched cutting rim can support fast cutting and consistent tool use. Segment geometry and bond influence cutting action, chip space and wear. Floor-grinding tools are selected for removal, uniformity and target surface quality. The documents show several quality and design levels; selection follows the application.

From your application to a tooling solution

State the material, machine, mounting and intended wet or dry operation. Speed and permitted operating conditions are checked against the specific tool marking and machine documentation. A blade intended for one machine is not automatically suitable for another.

Start with the information already available. An existing tool, a photo or a drawing is often a useful starting point. Also discuss your goal: replacing an existing design, improving surface quality or reducing tool changes and machining time. Comparisons record quality, time and useful output together; missing information can be added during the technical discussion.
