PCD - Polycrystalline Diamond

  • PCD production = diamond particles + metal powder are sintered under high pressure and temperature.
  • PCD is more impact resistant than natural diamond.
  • extremely hard and has a very high stock removal rate

PKBN (PCBN) - Polycrystalline Cubic Boron Nitride

  • PKBN production = CBN grains + metal powder are sintered under high pressure and temperature
  • CBN grain is an engineered synthetic material
  • Extremely hard - only diamond is harder
  • has higher thermal stability compared to diamonds (up to 1000°C)
  • Enables much higher stock removal and cutting speeds than conventional cutting tools
  • Areas of application:
