PCD - Polycrystalline diamond

PCD production = diamond particles + metal powder are sintered under high pressure and temperature
PCD is more impact-resistant than natural diamond.
Extremely hard and has a very high removal rate
Areas of application:
- Non-ferrous metals
- Al and copper alloys
- Composite materials
- Wood etc.

PKBN (PCBN) - Polycrystalline Cubic Boron Nitride

PKBN production = CBN grains + metal powder are sintered under high pressure and temperature
CBN grain is a man-made synthetic material
Extremely hard - only diamond is harder
Has a higher thermal stability compared to diamonds (up to 1000°C)
Enables much higher allowances and cutting speeds than conventional cutting tools
Areas of application:

- Hardened steel
- High-alloy steel grades
- Hardness: 30-40 HV
